This training course is designed to meet the requirements for training in line with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment regulations 1998 (PUWER 1998) for safety in the use of abrasive wheels and discs.

The content is both theoretical and practical based and includes multi-media presentations that demonstrate the need for safety in the use of abrasive wheels and discs. The training is conducted by a senior member of staff with many years experience in the abrasive industry. The training is fully interactive with delegates encouraged to demonstrate their awareness of safety in the use of abrasive wheels and concludes with a short written examination.

The training may be taken as a 1/2 day or 1 day course.

The 1/2 day course is suitable for operators that use either portable angle grinders, petrol saws, chop saws and/or bench/pedestal grinders. Typical environments include small workshops, construction sites, fabricators, maintenance departments and local authority workshops.

The 1 day course is suitable for operators with a varied range of machines or where more time is required to demonstrate, for example, diamond dressing procedures or wheel balancing. Both courses are ideal for companies requiring certification in the safe use of abrasive wheels.
